We’re now learning that the victim in the Arlington murder that we reported on earlier this week was a staffer on the Newsmax cable-news network.

Travis Renee Baldwin, 57, of Winchester, was found dead in the Arlington apartment of her son, 27-year-old Logan Chrisinger, who charged with first-degree murder, aggravated malicious wounding and using a firearm in the commission of a felony in the Sunday-morning shooting.

According to Arlington Police, Chrisinger, at 8:28 a.m. on Sunday, told a 911 dispatcher that his mother had shot herself in a bedroom in his apartment in the 3400 block of Fairfax Drive.

Upon arrival, officers located Baldwin inside the residence suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Officers administered lifesaving measures before medics transported her to a local hospital.

Baldwin was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

Baldwin had most recently worked as a makeup artist at Newsmax, where anchor Greta Van Susteren posted online that she had just done her makeup for her for her show on Friday of last week.

“What sadness….my Newsmax make up artist of 3 1/2 years, and years at @ABC @espn etc and a friend to all of her colleagues…was murdered over the weekend…she did my make up Friday for the show and of course I never dreamed that would be the last time I would see her…” Van Susteren wrote in the post.

As Van Susteren’s tribute alluded, Baldwin’s career also included stints at ABC and ESPN, where she worked on the DC-based “Pardon the Interruption” with hosts Tony Kornheiser and Michael Wilbon.

“Renee had a giving heart and a gypsy spirit but really she was a quiet warrior, supporting her family and carrying the weight of a household on her shoulders—without complaints…Her spirit and joyous laugh will be deeply missed,” Newsmax White House producer Marisela Rameriz wrote online.

Police have not publicly indicated a motive for the shooting, though a DC TV station reported that Chrisinger had battled mental-health issues in the past, and had reportedly called his mother asking for help on Sunday morning.
