Two Albemarle County men have been charged with first-degree murder in the 2023 shooting of a Charlottesville man.
On Monday, detectives from the the Albemarle County Police Department’s criminal investigations division indicted two individuals in connection to the February 21, 2023, murder of 34-year-old Joshua Lamont Jones.
Torius Jihad Price, 22, and Taquarius Olando Catoe-Anderson, 22, both of Albemarle County, have been charged with three felonies each:
- First-degree murder (§18.2-32)
- Conspiracy to commit murder (§18.2-22)
- Use of a firearm in the commission of a felony (§18.2-53.1)
A third individual believed to have been involved in Jones’ death was murdered on March 4, 2023, in Charlottesville.
“While nothing can undo the pain caused by this act of violence in our community, we hope these arrests will begin to bring some closure to the victim’s family and send a clear message that we remain committed to seeking justice,” said Darrell Byers, captain of the ACPD criminal investigations division.
The investigation is ongoing.
