A third individual believed to have been involved in Jones’ death was murdered on March 4, 2023, in Charlottesville.

“While nothing can undo the pain caused by this act of violence in our community, we hope these arrests will begin to bring some closure to the victim’s family and send a clear message that we remain committed to seeking justice,” said Darrell Byers, captain of the ACPD criminal investigations division.

The investigation is ongoing.
