Today Staunton City Council Candidate Carl Tate received the endorsement of State Sen. Emmett W. Hanger and former governor and U.S. senator George F. Allen.

“Carl has the knowledge, experience and maturity to serve the city of Staunton well,” Hanger said in announcing his endorsement.

Allen, who will be in Staunton on Thursday for a Tea Party Tax Day Rally, mentioned Tate’s leadership skills and experience in announcing his endorsement.

“Through his volunteer work on my gubernatorial campaign all the way up to his work on my two campaigns for U.S. Senate, I have known Carl Tate to be a proven, common sense conservative leader and hard worker. I’m confident that Carl Tate will bring a high level of commitment and a dedicated effort for the people Staunton on the City Council,” Allen said..

Tate said, “I am truly humbled by this outpouring of support from elected officials and look forward to working with them if I am fortunate enough to be elected on May 4. Hopefully, the people of Staunton will have as much faith in me as Emmett, George and the Valley delegates have. I’m truly blessed and fortunate.”
