Business is growing in the West End of Staunton a year ahead of the completion of a new Juvenile & Domestic Relations Court.

West Beverley Restaurant opened August 8, 2024, at 2207 W. Beverley Street and offers hamburgers, hot dogs, milk shakes, fries, soft serve ice cream, cold subs and hot subs. Dine in, drive-thru and carry out services are available Sundays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Mondays to Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

D. Patel owns the restaurant, which is managed by her husband, Harry Patel. The couple came to Virginia eight years ago from Gujarat, India. West Beverley Restaurant is their first business venture.

“In the beginning is always busy,” Harry Patel said of the first two weeks of being open. He said they will reevaluate how the business is doing in three months. “So far, it’s good.”

The couple, who live in Staunton, came to Virginia where crime is less and life is quiet.

“I like it here,” Harry Patel said of Staunton.

West Beverley Restaurant is within walking distance of Mi Rancho Mexican Restaurant and Stella Mia Pizzeria, which will share a parking lot with the new court building. A Tastee Freeze previously operated at 2207 West Beverley but closed during the COVID-19 pandemic.
