Staunton Montessori School announced on Wednesday that it will be relocating to the Statler Brothers Complex in the City of Staunton, with classes at the new location beginning with the start of the 2026-2027 school year.

“To us, being a Model Montessori School means more than just having beautiful classrooms; it means creating a thoughtfully designed campus that serves as a ‘second teacher,’ where every square inch reflects our values and supports a child’s natural development,” said Leanne Gray, Head of School at the Staunton Montessori School, which was founded in 1980, and currently operates from a campus located in Fishersville.

The new Thornrose Avenue home will feature two large school buildings, an aftercare cottage, and a large brick garage.

The buildings include space for 10 classroom communities, enrichment “specials,” clubs and dedicated areas for a gym, stage, library and social gatherings.

The property directly abuts Gypsy Hill Park, offering opportunities for nature education and physical movement.
