Folks who adopt a shelter pet at the Rockingham-Harrisonburg SPCA through Dec. 23 can opt to have their new companion delivered directly to their home by Santa’s elves on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.

“Our Home for the Holidays program is a joyful tradition that brings pets and families together in a memorable and meaningful way,” said Madison Spiess, a development associate at the Rockingham-Harrisonburg SPCA. “Every adoption gives an animal a second chance, and this event adds a touch of magic to the experience.”

Adoptions must be completed in person at the SPCA, located at 2170 Old Furnace Rd, Harrisonburg.

To participate in the delivery program, adopters must live within 30 minutes of the shelter.

A small delivery fee of $25 supports the RHSPCA’s ongoing efforts to care for homeless animals.

Spots are limited, and the program historically fills up quickly. Community members are encouraged to visit the shelter early in the adoption window to secure their holiday delivery.

PCB’s support as the presenting sponsor helps make this unique experience possible.

“We’re grateful for the opportunity to be a part of such a heartwarming holiday tradition,” said Sage Massie, a spokesperson for PCB, “Supporting our community is at the heart of PCB’s mission, and we’re excited to join the Rockingham-Harrisonburg SPCA in spreading a little extra Christmas cheer this season, bringing joy right to your doorstep!”
