A Buena Vista man is dead after a single-vehicle crash Friday night in Rockbridge County.

Eugene Wilson, 83, died at the scene.

The accident occurred on Route 60, one mile east of Reid Hollow Road, according to Virginia State Police.

Wilson, in a Honda Odyssey, was traveling west when he ran off the right side of the road and down an embankment where he struck several trees before the vehicle came to a rest overturned.

The crash remains under investigation.

Wilson had been the subject of a missing person report in May. He was later found safe.
