Road work began Thursday in Waynesboro to crack seal roads throughout the city. This will take place for approximately two weeks.

Crack sealing blocks water from seeping through existing cracks that could freeze and thaw during cold weather causing damage to the structural base layers, according to the City of Waynesboro.

It also extends the life of a road saving money for the city. Finally, it prevents small cracks from becoming something bigger, such as a pothole, which require more extensive repair.

No roads closures will be required.

No parking signs are typically placed out approximately 48 – 72 hours in advance of crew work.
