Who wants to be a billionaire? A two-dollar ticket could help you reach billionaire status, as the Powerball lottery jackpot continues to rise. It is currently estimated at $1.3 billion for the next drawing on Wednesday night.

No ticket matched all six numbers drawn – white balls 8, 23, 25, 40, 53 and red Powerball 5. The multiplier was three.

Wednesday’s jackpot ranks as the fifth largest in the Powerball game and the ninth largest among all U.S. lottery games.

If one player wins the jackpot on Wednesday night, they have the choice between an annuitized prize estimated at $1.3 billion or a lump sum payment estimated at $589 million.

In Virginia, Monday’s Powerball drawing produced one millionaire, and two ticket holders won $150,000 each.

The million-dollar ticket was purchased in NOVA at a Wawa on Sudley Road in Manassas. It matched the first five numbers but did not match the Powerball number.

The two tickets that won $150K were purchased online using the Virginia Lottery mobile app. The two tickets each had activated the Power Play which tripled the normal $50,000 prize.

All Virginia Lottery profits go to K-12 education in Virginia.

Nationwide, two tickets won $2 million each; those tickets were sold in Montana and North Carolina. Ten tickets matched all five white balls to win $1 million prizes. Other than Virginia, the $1M tickets were sold in California, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania.

Powerball drawings are held at 10:59 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.
