Lynchburg: Three adults shot in ‘targeted incident,’ all expected to survive

Three adults were shot this afternoon in what police are calling “a targeted incident” in Lynchburg.

All three victims are expected to recover from their injuries.

The Lynchburg Police Department responded to a call for shots fired at 3:30 p.m. today in the 800 block of Florida Avenue.

Personnel from the Lynchburg Fire Department provided medical assistance and transported all three individuals to Lynchburg General Hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment.

Preliminary investigation indicates that this was a targeted incident, and there is no perceived ongoing threat to the community at this time, according to the LPD.

The investigation remains active.
