Lynchburg woman charged in stabbing, man found in roadway with wounds

A Lynchburg woman was taken into custody Saturday after allegedly stabbing a man in the chest and abdomen.

Sharon Anita Libby, 55, has been charged with malicious wounding.

Police were called to the scene at approximately 4:10 p.m. in the 3300 block of Mayflower Drive.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult male lying in the roadway suffering from wounds.

Officers immediately rendered first aid, and the victim was transported to Lynchburg General Hospital with non–life-threatening injuries.

It was determined that the injuries were caused by a sharp object.

This investigation remains active.
