Fire at Leesburg Executive Airport damages nine planes: No injuries reported

A structure fire at the Leesburg Executive Airport damaged nine planes Sunday morning.

The 2 a.m. Sunday fire occurred in the B T-hangar located on the north end of the airfield, according to a press release from the Town of Leesburg.

Loudoun County Fire and Rescue responded and extinguished the fire shortly after it was reported by a Leesburg Police officer who was on patrol.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The airport is open for business.
