Albemarle County Police are still working to sort out the details of a shooting reported late Saturday night.

ACPD, in a release, says officers were dispatched at 11:30 p.m. to the 200 block of Harvest Drive for a report of a domestic disturbance.

The arriving officers were unable to determine that a crime had occurred at the location, but a little later, the Charlottesville Police Department received a report of an individual who had been shot in the 2100 block of Ivy Road – at least, that’s what was initially thought.

The victim reported that the shooting had occurred in the City of Charlottesville, but as ACPD officers continued their investigation, they determined that the shooting had actually occurred in Albemarle County, not in the city.

The victim was transported to UVA Medical Center and is currently listed in stable condition.

The investigation is ongoing. ACPD is asking anyone who may have information on this incident to call Crime Stoppers at 434-977-4000.

Callers may remain anonymous.
