E.W. Jackson comments on Supreme Court gay marriage ruling

AFP

ew jacksonBishop E.W. Jackson is warning pastors and churches not to be complacent about the U.S. Supreme Court’s refusal to take up the same sex marriage issue.

“Although this is not a victory for LGBT  activists, neither is it a victory for Christians and others who hold to the true definition of marriage,” said Bishop Jackson, the 2013 Republican nominee for lieutenant governor in Virginia.

Jackson has been speaking to pastors and churches across America urging them to activate their members and motivate them to go the polls and vote their values. He has argued that the redefinition of marriage to include same sex relationships will have devastating effect on pastors, churches and church members.

The Supreme Court has denied certiorari, which maintains the status quo. “That means, “says the Bishop, “Appeals courts rulings favoring same sex marriage will become law for the time being. Judicial stays delaying the issuance of marriage licenses will likely be lifted and they will go forward.

Jackson is concerned that cities may pass ordinances that force churches to rent their facilities for same sex ceremonies. Businesses may now be forced to participate and serve such activities in violation of sincerely held religious beliefs. Military personnel who are Christian may now be forced to express support for same sex marriage. Some of this is already happening.

STAND is soon to release a petition for Religious and Civil Rights to stop the looming threat of being forced to bow to what he calls, “the new secular order.”
