Diesel prices are at an all-time record high, sitting at an average of $5.84 a gallon at this writing on Friday, passing the previous record of $5.82 a gallon set back in June 2022.

We’re 20 months into Trump 2.0, so, no, this isn’t Biden’s fault.

“Diesel is the fuel that moves the economy, and when diesel prices reach record levels, the impact extends far beyond the transportation sector,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy. “Higher diesel prices impact consumers as rising supply chain costs increase the price of groceries, household goods, deliveries and countless other products Americans rely on every day.”

Diesel is what powers freight trucks, trains, agricultural equipment, construction machinery.

As diesel prices rise, transportation costs increase, often leading to higher prices for consumer goods and services.
