Changes to traffic pattern at intersection of Richmond Avenue, Statler Boulevard in Staunton

Contributors

staunton2editsOn Tuesday, November 18, the City of Staunton Department of Public Works will be making two traffic pattern changes at the intersection of Richmond Avenue and Statler Boulevard.

  • The current northbound through/right turn lane on Statler Boulevard, at its intersection with Richmond Avenue, will be converted to a dedicated right turn only lane.  After the conversion, vehicles traveling in the right lane of Statler Boulevard, from the vicinity of Statler Square Shopping Center toward Richmond Avenue, will be required to turn right onto eastbound Richmond Avenue.
  • The current westbound through/right turn lane on Richmond Avenue, at its intersection with Statler Boulevard, will be converted to a dedicated right turn only lane.  After the conversion, vehicles traveling in the right lane of Richmond Avenue, from the vicinity of I-81 toward downtown Staunton, will be required to turn right onto northbound Statler Boulevard.

An overhead photograph of the Richmond Avenue and Statler Boulevard intersection, showing traffic patterns after the conversions, can be found on the City’s website, www.staunton.va.us, and on the Staunton City Manager Office’s Facebook page.

Motorists should not encounter any delays as a result of these changes; rather, these changes should improve traffic flow and help reduce congestion.  Motorists are urged to pay attention and exercise caution, as all become familiar with new traffic patterns.
