Update: Missing Staunton man found dead in Lyndhurst, according to authorities

Update: Wednesday, 11:56 a.m. A Staunton man reported missing Monday night who was the subject of a search led by the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office was found dead in Lyndhurst on Tuesday.

Augusta County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the 3200 block of Howardsville Turnpike in Lyndhurst Tuesday at 4:09 p.m. for the report of an unresponsive man. Upon arrival, deputies discovered the man was
deceased and subsequently identified him as Westin McClister.

The investigation into McClister’s death is ongoing.

No foul play is suspected.

 

First report: Tuesday, 2:42 p.m. The Augusta County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s assistance with locating a missing person who was last seen at his Staunton home on Monday at 7 p.m.

Westin Elliot McClister, 20, is 6’0”, 170 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

McClister should be driving a green 2011 Toyota Camry, with Virginia registration ECUL8R.
