The fatal crash occurred just outside Waynesboro city limits – at the intersection of U.S. 340 and Ladd Road.

According to Virginia State Police, the crash occurred Sept. 14 at approximately 9 p.m.

A Kia Sorento, driven by Call, was travelling northbound on Route 340 when it struck the e-bike (also traveling northbound). Call initially fled the scene but was later taken into custody with the assistance of the Waynesboro Police Department.

Call is also facing a Class 5 felony charge for drug possession in Staunton Circuit Court for an incident on March 7 that included a second charge for failure to yield. The felony charge is scheduled for the grand jury on Oct. 20.
