“Almost Grown: Tales of Careers, Life and Marriage” at WTA’s Gateway

Actress/Storyteller Lynn Ruehlmann will bring her one-person show Almost Grown to WTA’s Gateway on Saturday, March 3rd.

The piece is an adult tale of what Ruehlman calls “Mischief and Other Matters.”  She looks at what it means to becoming an adult and facing what that means: careers, life, loves, and marriage.

Almost Grown will be performed at WTA’s Gateway at 329 West Main in Downtown Waynesboro.  The 8 pm performance is supported by a grant from the Virginia Commission for the Arts.

Lynn Ruehlmann was bitten by the storytelling bug after having spent years in the theater where she was named “Best Actress in a Comedy” by Folio. Since 1990, she has made storytelling her professional focus. She performs for schools and adult organizations, everywhere from Virginia to Michigan to Alaska to Georgia to Connecticut. For many years she worked with Young Audiences of Virginia, who named her Artist of the Year. The Virginia Commission for the Arts has awarded grants for her touring programs every year since 2002.

WTA’s Gateway is reportedly the number one pick by many of the artists who have performed there.  It is an ideal, intimate performance space with seating up to 120.  WTA’s Gateway is located on Main Street in downtown Waynesboro with ample parking and nearby restaurants.  The space has its own beverage license and offers a range of concessions to its audience. WTA’s Gateway is the Wayne Theatre Alliance’s first step towards its planned opening at the renovated Wayne Theatre.

Tickets for Almost Grown are $10 and are available online at www.WTAGateway.com or by calling the box office at 540-943-9999. Available tickets may be purchased at the box office on the night of performance.
