UVA Football wideout Cam Ross earned two ACC Football weekly honors for his performance in the Cavaliers’ Week 1 win over Coastal Carolina, as Receiver of the Week and Specialist of the Week.

The ACC announced the weekly honors on Tuesday.

As usual, it was noted that the selections were made by a select media panel.

It is my goal to, one day, be considered as a possibility for said select media panel.

Quarterback: Haynes King, R-Sr., QB, Georgia Tech (Longview, Texas)

  • Became just the second FBS player since 1995 to run for 140 yards, pass for 140 yards and scored three touchdowns in a season opener, joining Jalen Hurts (Oklahoma) in 2019.
  • His 156 rushing yards were the most by an FBS quarterback in Weeks 0 and 1 and the 10th-most by an FBS player, regardless of position.
  • Scored all three of Georgia Tech’s touchdowns, including the game-winning 45-yard touchdown run with 67 seconds remaining.
  • Helped the Yellow Jackets total 463 yards of offense, averaging 6.8 yards per play, in the win at Colorado.

Running Back: Isaac Brown, So., RB, Louisville (Miami, Florida)

  • Led all rushers for Louisville with 126 yards and two touchdowns on six carries in the season-opening win over Eastern Kentucky.
  • Averaged 21.0 yards per carry.
  • Found the end zone on a pair of 31-yard and 68-yard touchdown runs.
  • Brown was the lone ACC running back to eclipse 100 rushing yards in Week 1.

Receiver and Specialist: Cam Ross, Grad., WR, Virginia (Newark, Delaware)

  • Caught seven passes for 124 yards and a touchdown in the Cavaliers’ win over Coastal Carolina.
  • Accounted for an ACC-best 224 all-purpose yards, also returning a kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown.
  • His 100-yard kick return is tied for the longest in Virginia program history.

Offensive Lineman: Luke Petitbon, R-Sr., C, Florida State (Annapolis, Maryland)

  • Started and played all 63 snaps in Florida State’s 31-17 win over No. 8 Alabama.
  • The Seminoles did not allow a sack for the first time since September 2023.
  • The Seminoles ran for 230 yards and four touchdowns, their most against a ranked opponent since 2012.
  • Credited with seven knockdown blocks and seven blocks that led to either a first down or touchdown.
  • Received an 85% job grade and 96% effort grade against the Crimson Tide.

Defensive Lineman: Rueben Bain Jr., Jr., DL, Miami (Miami, Florida)

  • Recorded six tackles, 0.5 sacks and his first career interception in a win over No. 6 Notre Dame.
  • Also recorded three quarterback pressures.
  • His sack came on Notre Dame’s final offensive snap to secure the Hurricanes’ top-10 win.
  • His 12-yard interception return set up a Miami field goal, pushing the lead to 10.

Linebacker: Kyle Louis, R-Jr., LB, Pitt (East Orange, New Jersey)

  • Opened the season with six tackles, three tackles-for-loss and two sacks against Duquesne.
  • Matched his single-game career-high with two sacks, previously done against Clemson in 2024.
  • His pair of sacks leads the ACC and ranks third nationally after Week 1.
  • His three tackles-for-loss also lead the ACC and rank fourth nationally.

Defensive Back: Ahmaad Moses, Sr., S, SMU (Arlington, Texas)

  • Finished with four tackles in SMU’s season-opening win against East Texas A&M.
  • Tallied a 95-yard interception return for a touchdown.
  • His pick-six is tied for the fourth-longest in program history.

Rookie: Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele, Fr., QB, California (Ewa Beach, Hawai’i)

  • Became only the second true freshman to start a season opener for the Golden Bears, joining Jared Goff in 2013.
  • Also became the first true freshman quarterback to win a season-opener for Cal, knocking off Oregon State, 34-15.
  • Completed 20-of-30 pass attempts for 234 yards and three touchdowns.
  • Completed each of his first nine pass attempts against the Beavers.
  • Added 30 rushing yards, including a 25-yard run.
