The Lynchburg Ledger will moderate a YouTube debate to give voters a chance to learn more about Sixth District congressional candidates Bob Goodlatte, Sam Rasoul and Janice Lee Allen.

The virtual debate is the brainchild of the Rasoul campaign, which has put up a website, www.virginia6.com, and put out a call to Sixth District voters to submit questions for the candidates. The Ledger will moderate the debate and choose the questions.

Questions are due in by Sept. 4. Candidates will be given an opportunity to respond via YouTube video beginning Sept. 6.

“This is a great opportunity for Southwest Virginia to use new technologies in learning more about their Congressional candidates,” Rasoul said. “Being the youngest congressional candidate in America, I believe in the importance of utilizing new ideas to advance democracy and reach out to the constituents of the Sixth District.”
