What: UVa. will hold the 16th annual Dance Marathon to support UVA Children’s Hospital. Dance Marathon is a Children’s Miracle Network program consisting of over 150 colleges nationwide. Over 400 University of Virginia students have been raising money through pledges and sponsorships and will celebrate by dancing for 15 hours straight from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The student-run program’s goal is to generate $45,000 for UVA Children’s Hospital.

With more than 100 physicians, UVA Children’s Hospital is a leading center for children’s healthcare in the Mid-Atlantic. Kimberly Dunsmore, MD, Chief, Division of Pediatric Hematology & Oncology will speak on behalf of UVA Children’s Hospital. The staff of the Hematology & Oncology clinic will be surprising the kids with a flash mob routine, followed by a special ceremony to recognize the Miracle Families at UVA Children’s Hospital.

This year, we will have several special guests from members of UVA Athletic teams and the Miss America Organization.

When: Saturday, February 15, 12:30 p.m. Please RSVP to Ryan Lightner by 5pm Friday, February 14. Members of the media are asked to arrive by 12:15 p.m.
