A neighborhood health event, Healthy Connections, will be held on Thursday, Dec. 12 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Waynesboro Boys & Girls Club. The event features information and resources families need for a healthy life.
The evening will include:
- Free health screenings for adults: Diabetes/Glucose, Cholesterol, Blood Pressure, Stroke Assessment, Body Mass Index Measurement, Pulmonary Function Test, Sleep Assessment and Dental Screenings.
- Flu Shots
- Children’s Activities: Physical and Educational Activities focusing on heart health
- Health Exchange Corner: Navigators and Certified Counselors from Med Assist, Valley Community Services Board and Enroll Virginia
- “The Discharge Desk” to provide an opportunity to ask health professionals about the screening results
- Health information
- A warm, nutritious soup supper
The event is a cooperative project of Augusta Health, Augusta Free Clinic, the Boys and Girls Club, Med Assist, Enroll Virginia, the Valley Community Services Board, and local providers.
