Albemarle County: Crash at 29-64 interchange takes the life of an Augusta County man

An Augusta County man died as a result of injuries sustained in a three-vehicle accident at the Route 29-Interstate 64 interchange in Albemarle County on Wednesday.

Dewitt Hutchinson, 84, of Stuarts Draft, was a passenger in one of the vehicles involved in the 4 p.m. accident, according to a report from Albemarle County Police.

The drivers of two of the involved vehicles were also transported to UVA with minor injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Albemarle County Police Department Traffic Unit.

ACPD does not believe alcohol or speed to be factors in the crash.
