The City of Staunton is asking residents to prioritize long-term growth and investment strategies for its comprehensive plan.
An online survey offers community members the opportunity to weigh in between now and Dec. 22.
The plan will help the city make decisions related to land use, economic development, housing, parks, infrastructure and more.
The plan is shaped by public input and provides a coordinated framework for Staunton City Council, boards and commissions and staff as they make policy, budget and development decisions.
“We know residents are passionate about different aspects of our city, and we designed this survey to be flexible,” said Meggie Taylor, long range planner. “You can choose to provide feedback only on the plan chapters that matter most to you, whether that’s housing, transportation or all of them.

“This survey is about moving from ideas to action,” Taylor said. “The community has already helped us establish the ‘what.’ Now, we need help prioritizing the ‘how,’ the specific tactics to make those goals a reality.”
The updated draft of the comprehensive plan will be published early next year. Residents will have another opportunity to comment before it is finalized.
