Virginia State Police are still investigating the death of a male subject discovered Monday morning at a rest area in Albemarle County.

At 8:27 a.m., Virginia State Police responded to the eastbound Interstate 64 Rest Area at the 105 mile marker in Albemarle County. A citizen called in about an unresponsive male in a parked vehicle. Further investigation revealed James A. Randle, 33, of Waynesboro, was deceased. His body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Richmond for examination and autopsy.

The Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation’s Appomattox Field Office is investigating the circumstances surrounding Randle’s death, but do not suspect foul play.
