Augusta Health cafeteria to undergo renovations

augusta-health-headerAugusta Health’s cafeteria will undergo a major renovation beginning May 10.  The cafeteria is expected to reopen in September.  While the renovations are in process, temporary serving areas and alternate dining locations will be available on the hospital campus.

Meal service in the cafeteria will end after dinner on Thursday, May 9.  The temporary locations will open Friday, May 10 and operate until the cafeteria reopens.  Jazzman’s Bakery and Café and Lifetime Café are ongoing locations that can also provide dining alternatives for those visiting Augusta Health.

Alternate dining locations are:

  • The first floor lobby of the Medical Office Building, in the area previously occupied by the Pharmacy.  This location will be open from 6 am until 7 pm daily and will have a modified menu:  daily hot entrée, starch and vegetable; limited grill sandwich options; deli sandwiches and salad bar.  Packaged sandwiches, salads and parfaits will also be available.
  • The Atrium Lobby (main entrance) Gift Shop.  This location, with assistance from the Auxiliary Board, will be open from 8:30 am until 9 pm, Monday through Friday, beginning Monday, May 13.  It will serve limited grill options, soup, and packaged sandwiches, salads and parfaits.
  • Jazzman’s Bakery and Café in the Heart & Vascular Center lobby will be open from 6 am until 4 pm, Monday through Friday.  Its menu includes specialty coffees, fruit smoothies, baked desserts and packaged sandwiches and salads.
  • Lifetime Fitness Café in the Lifetime Fitness Center is open from 6:30 am until 4 pm, Monday through Friday.  Its menu includes made-to-order sandwiches and salads, as well as smoothies, coffees and bottled drinks.

“We recognize that the cafeteria renovation will create a temporary inconvenience for our customers, but in the end, we will have a significantly improved cafeteria the will meet the needs of the hospital and community in a better way,” says Zeph Putnam, Dietary Director at Augusta Health.
