Mayors for Meals Brings Spotlight to Waynesboro Senior Center

Every year the Senior Centers in Waynesboro and Staunton participate in the national Mayors for Meals Day sponsored by the Meals on Wheels Association of America. On a designated day in March, hundreds of local government officials across the United States deliver Meals on Wheels in conjunction with their local Meals on Wheels organization. March for Meals Day 2013 was March 20. This program is a great opportunity for local officials to serve and converse with meal recipients directly and a great way to showcase one of the most utilized services the Centers provide.

Impromptu Yard Sale at Waynesboro Senior Center

Thanks to the snow in early March, our normal monthly yard sale was cancelled. The volunteers decided to come together to have a sale on Tuesday, March 26 from 10a.m. to 1p.m. in order to have a chance to sell some of the Easter decorations they had placed out for sale. The next Yard Sale after that will be the first Thursday of April (April 4) with the same hours. There are plans to have some additional sales in April as well. Call the Center after the first of the month for details.
