Sen. Tim Kaine talks business in Waynesboro

U.S. Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Va., was in Waynesboro on Thursday to meet with city leaders to discuss economic development in Waynesboro. Kaine met with City Councilman Tim Williams, City Manager Mike Hamp and Assistant City Manager Jim Shaw to discuss several ongoing development projects in the River City. Kaine then toured Downtown Waynesboro to learn more about the work on the Center for Coldwaters Restoration and to meet with several owntown business owners.

The Waynesboro Senior Center has partnered with the News Virginian on a public forum program called “Let’s Talk”. The next one is going to be Friday, May 10 at 12:30p.m. and will cover the topic of emergency preparedness. Waynesboro Cultural Commission announces romance writers’ workshops

As part of its mission to serve area writers, filmmakers, artists and performers, the Waynesboro Cultural Commission announces the second in its series of informal workshops. The romance writers’ workshops, scheduled for the first two Tuesdays in May, will introduce the genre and give aspiring authors the skills to understand the expectations of this popular fictional form.

CDSMP Leader Training Scheduled in Waynesboro

Leader Training for the Chronic Disease Self-Management Program is scheduled for May 9, 10, 16, and 17 from 9am – 4:30pm. The Leader Training will be held in the conference room at the VPAS Corporate office in Waynesboro and light snacks, lunch, and all necessary materials will be provided. At least 12 people must be registered in order to hold the training and additional participants are still needed.
