Ridgeview Park in Waynesboro will be the host site of U.S. Military Weekend – Saturday, Aug. 31, and Sunday, Sept. 1.
The All-American Honor Guard had scheduled the event for June, but a massive storm system flooded Ridgeview Park and forced a postponement of the scheduled displays.
The event will include uniformed re-enactors from different time periods to explain the lives of soldiers as well as displays of vehicles, camps, equipment and weapons. Demonstrations of weapons, including blank firings, will take throughout the day.
The event will run from 9 am to 5 pm Sat. and 10 am to 4 pm Sun.
Admission is free to all.
