Five acres on the core of the Third Winchester battlefield are now forever protected. This includes the site where the Army of the Shenandoah, commanded by Union Gen. Philip Sheridan crossed Opequon Creek early on the morning of September 19, 1864.

SMAC finishes in top 10 in Baltimore

The Waynesboro Y year round competitive swim team, SMAC, (Shenandoah Marlins Aquatic Club) competed in the NBAC Long Course Championships in Baltimore, Maryland June 12th- June 15th. The meet was held at the Meadowbrook Aquatic Center, the home pool of Michael Phelps.

ALDI grocery store to open in Waynesboro on May 7

On Thursday, April 23 and Thursday, May 7, ALDI, the nation’s low-price grocery leader, will offer grocery shoppers a smarter alternative as it opens its first Richmond-area stores. The new stores will be located at 1776 North Parham Road in Richmond, 465 Charles Dimmock Parkway in Colonial Heights and 841 Shenandoah Village Drive in Waynesboro.
