The Virginia Department of Transportation will hold a public meeting concerning upcoming construction and traffic patterns for the Interstate 64 bridges over the Maury River and Kerrs Creek in Rockbridge County.
Both southbound lanes of Interstate 81 in Shenandoah County are blocked due to a tractor trailer accident at exit 279 (Edinburg). The southbound side of the interstate is expect to be closed for at least two hours. There is currently a 10-mile backup.

At 9:01 a.m. Tuesday (March 18, 2014), Virginia State Police were called to the scene of a multi-vehicle crash in the northbound lanes of Interstate 81 near the 210 mile marker in Augusta County. There is one confirmed fatality.
