Five former Bridgewater College standout student-athletes were inducted into the College’s Athletic Hall of Fame at the annual Hall of Fame Banquet held Friday evening.

Bridgewater College is hosting a Peace Corps Symposium on Sunday, Oct. 26 and Monday, Oct. 27. Both presentations will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the Carter Center for Worship and Music.

Harrisonburg, Va., artist Ragan McManus will exhibit, “Days of Wine and Roses,” in the Cleo Driver Miller Art Gallery at Bridgewater College Oct. 20 – Nov. 19.

This year – 2014 – marks the 100th anniversary of the beginning of World War I. Dr. Michael S. Neiberg, author of Dance of the Furies: Europe and the Outbreak of World War I, will speak Tuesday, Oct. 21, at 7:30 p.m. in Cole Hall at Bridgewater College.

Scott Jost, associate professor of art at Bridgewater College, will read from the oral histories of apple growers who live and work in the Shenandoah Valley and Blue Ridge regions of Virginia at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, in Cole Hall at Bridgewater College.

David Lacks Jr. and Veronica Spencer, featured in Rebecca Skloot’s bestseller, The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, will speak on Thursday, Oct. 2, in Cole Hall at Bridgewater College.

Dutch inventor and entrepreneur Bas Lansdorp has made multiple breakthroughs in the field of science in technology. As co-founder and CEO of Mars One, his goal is to put humans on the planet Mars by 2025.

Van Jones, co-host of CNN’s Crossfire, will speak on Monday, Oct. 6, at 7:30 p.m., in Cole Hall at Bridgewater College. The program, sponsored by the Kline-Bowman Endowment Fund for Creative Peacebuilding, is free and open to the public.

On Saturday afternoon, the Bridgewater Eagles football team will put its unbeaten record on the line and close out the non-conference slate when it travels to Newport News, Virginia to meet up with Apprentice.
