
Bridgewater College to host Business Expo on Sept. 3
A business expo designed to help connect Bridgewater College students with local businesses and residents will be held Sept. 3 from 3-6 p.m. at the Funkhouser Center on the college campus.

A business expo designed to help connect Bridgewater College students with local businesses and residents will be held Sept. 3 from 3-6 p.m. at the Funkhouser Center on the college campus.

In the early morning hours of Jan. 19, 2000, college roommates Shawn Simons and Alvaro Llanos were asleep on the third floor of their six-story freshman residence at Seton Hall University when arsonists started a fire in the lounge on the same floor.

Dr. Russell De Young, a senior research scientist in the Science Directorate of NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton, Va., will speak on “NASA Advances in Understanding the Solar System,” at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8, in Cole Hall at Bridgewater College.

From a life of human trafficking and drugs to one as an award-winning college professor and recording artist – that’s the story Elaine Richardson will share Friday, Sept.5, at 8 p.m. in Cole Hall at Bridgewater College. The event is free and open to the public.

Harrisonburg, Va., artist Paul Somers will exhibit digital photographs in the Cleo Driver Miller Art Gallery at Bridgewater College Aug. 25 – Sept. 17.

Bridgewater College invites members of the local community to join its annual Oratorio Choir which will present a concert at 3 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 9, in the Carter Center for Worship and Music.

Dr. Larry Taylor, associate professor of music at Bridgewater College, will present an organ recital, “Bells, Bizet and Buster!,” at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 31, in Cole Hall on the college campus.

On April 15, 2013, Heather Abbott set out on an annual tradition with six friends. She planned to attend the Red Sox baseball game, walk over to the Boston Marathon finish line and gather at the Forum Restaurant. The events that day changed her life forever. At about 2:49 p.m., two pressure cooker bombs exploded, killing three people and injuring an estimated 264.
