WVPT Public Television opens new Harrisonburg studio location

afp_wvptwvpt Public Television, serving the Shenandoah Valley and Central and Northern Virginia, welcomes visitors to the opening of the new location for its studio and business offices on Thursday, September 11th from noon until 8:30 p.m.

In celebration of Patriot Day, wvpt will recognize Harrisonburg and Rockingham County First Responders at the opening of event. Singer Lisa Meadows will perform patriotic songs in honor of Patriot Day and our local heroes, the Harrisonburg and Rockingham County’s police force and fire and rescue team.

Open House festivities will include an old fashioned Ribbon Cutting ceremony, musical entertainment, and tours of the new facility. The event promises fun for the whole family, with Cubby the wvpt Bear and large cutouts of popular pbs characters available for photos and free book giveaways throughout the day. Guests are also invited to interact with the studio green screen and production studio, which will be set up to demonstrate in-studio action and video editing.

The evening will conclude with a live broadcast of the wvpt After Hours Event, including interviews with wvpt Board Members, from 8 pm to 8:30 pm. Refreshments will be served throughout the event.
