Women’s health center to expand into Lexington region

Augusta Health Care for Women recently announced its expansion of service into the Lexington area.

AHCFW has been providing care to a significant number of patients from the Lexington, Rockbridge, and surrounding areas for many years and are pleased to announce a second office will be opening in Lexington in June.  Their main office is located in Fishersville, across the street from Augusta Health.

“It is important that patients have convenient access to our offices. The expansion is driven by our commitment to better serve the women of the Shenandoah Valley. We understand that not everyone has the time and/or ability to travel to our main office in Fishersville on a routine basis. The additional office will also accommodate the continued growth of the practice, which will soon offer the choice of eight health care providers including four physicians and four certified nurse midwives,” indicated Angie McMillan, practice administrator.

Certified Nurse Midwife Mary Kwiecinski added, “I am looking forward to returning to the Rockbridge area as a part of the AHCFW health care team.”

Kwiecinski joined Augusta Health Care for Women two years ago following the closing of the OB Department at Carilion Stonewall Jackson.

Established in 1982, Augusta Health Care for Women is comprised of both male and female physicians and certified nurse midwives.  Patients are offered a choice of health care providers which helps to ensures that they are comfortable with their OB/GYN care.   AHCFW is committed to assisting patients in making informed decisions regarding their health.  Careful and respectful listening combined with the latest techniques of proven effectiveness has always been the philosophy of Augusta Health Care for Women.

The new AHCFW Lexington office is conveniently located adjacent to Stonewall Jackson Hospital at 110 Houston Street, Suite C , and will open on June 13.
