There are still a lot of question marks with a winter storm that will bring snow to Virginia on Wednesday.
The Shenandoah Valley appears to be out of the storm’s bullseye with the region likely getting less snow due to a trending southern track, according to AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Tom Kines.
Temperatures are not expected to get above 23 degrees on Wednesday in Waynesboro, according to AccuWeather.
“There are still ways for the storm to take a sharp turn toward the northeast and give us a significant snow,” he said.
The most likely candidates for more than six inches of accumulation would be the southern part of the state including Richmond, Norfolk and Virginia Beach.
The northern part of the state, Kines said, may get very little snow from the winter storm.
“Freezing rain is still a concern for the southern part of the state near the North Carolina border,” he said.
