Waynesboro Public Library will host four Paint N Sip workshops February through June supported by the Virginia Commission for the Arts.

The Commission receives support from the Virginia General Assembly and the National Endowment for the Arts.

The grant funding is to increase opportunities for students, educators, youth and adults throughout Virginia to engage in short-term artist residencies and promote Virginia Teaching Artists. The Paint N Sip workshops will allow individuals to learn foundational skills in painting, while enjoying refreshments and an encouraging atmosphere.

Waynesboro Public Library is happy to partner with Virginia Teaching Artist Brigitte Huson.

Huson, who holds bachelors of Fine Arts in Studio Arts and Art Education from the University of Dayton, focused on painting and drawing. She has 10 years of experience teaching elementary art within the Fairfax County Public Schools.

Huson, who lives in Staunton, offers programming to the community including private and small group sessions where participants learn, practice and create original works using foundational skills in drawing, painting and/or collage.

Registration is required for the workshops and available online.
