Waynesboro Police Department statement on Kevin Quick case

Chris Graham

Earlier this afternoon, investigators with the Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigations notified Waynesboro Police Chief Michael Wilhelm that human remains had been found in Goochland County during the search for Waynesboro Police Reserve Captain Kevin Quick.  All members of the Waynesboro Police Department and Waynesboro Police Auxiliary Unit have been notified of the discovery.  Department members are waiting along with Kevin’s family and friends for a positive identification to be made.

Reserve Capt Kevin Quick 3The Waynesboro Police Department will continue to assist in the ongoing investigation and any subsequent prosecution of offenders.

While this is an extremely difficult time, members of the Department will continued to serve the citizens of Waynesboro with the integrity, dedication and compassion we have always strived to exhibit.

We extend our appreciation to the members of the Virginia State Police, Federal Bureau of Investigations and the numerous state law enforcement officers continuing to work the case.  Also, we appreciate the members of the media who have covered the case.  Finally, we want to express our deep gratitude to the Waynesboro community for its support of the Department during this time.
