Waynesboro man charged in molestation of 3-year-old

Ryder Robert AllenThe Waynesboro Police Department has charged an area man for sexually assaulting a 3-year-old girl earlier this month.

The Staunton Police Department arrested Robert Allen Ryder, 55, with no fixed address, on Wednesday at a Staunton business on one felony count of object sexual penetration.

Ryder allegedly molested the victim on Feb. 19 at a residence in the Wayne Hills neighborhood in Waynesboro.  The victim’s family and the suspect’s family are acquainted with each other.

Ryder is being held without bond at Middle River Regional Jail.  He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing in Waynesboro Juvenile & Domestic Relations Court in March.
