Waynesboro man arrested on drugs, firearms charges

Rose Kendrick LamarrThe Waynesboro Police Department arrested a Waynesboro man on April 18 after officers used a department narcotics K-9 on the invidual’s vehicle while investigating possible drug activity in the city.

Kendrick Lamarr Rose, 20, was charged with two felonies – possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute and possession of a firearm after being a convicted felon.

On April 18 at approximately 11:45 a.m., an officer, who was acting on an anonymous tip, went by Rose’s residence in the 1100 block of South Delphine Avenue to speak with him.  The officer noticed a semi-automatic handgun in Rose’s 2004 Saturn sedan.  A narcotics K-9 unit was summoned and alerted to the presence of controlled substances in the vehicle.

When the officers searched the vehicle, they seized a baggie of marijuana, $168 in cash, and a 25 caliber Taurus semi-automatic hangun.  Rose was arrested at his residence without incident.

He is free on a $5,000 bond.
