Waynesboro High School will host its annual Pediatric Cancer Awareness Night tonight at its home football game.

The home game against Turner Ashby High School begins at 7 p.m.

Awareness is significant to the WHS community because two current students faced childhood cancer.

Macie Sprouse, a junior and cheerleader, and Lane McNorton, a senior football player, both battled leukemia.

The evening will honor their journeys alongside others who have fought against cancer.

Spectators are encouraged to wear gold to the game in support of the awareness night.

Donations will be accepted for The Madee Project, a local organization providing financial support to children and families fighting cancer in the Staunton, Waynesboro and Augusta County.
