Virginia State Police is seeking information related to a road-rage incident that took place in June on Interstate 495 in Fairfax County.

The incident occurred at 9:12 a.m. on June 11 and resulted in gunfire that left the victim with injuries to their leg and arm. The victim had two teenagers in the car with them.

According to police, the altercation began along I-495 southbound in the area of Route 236, where the victim’s vehicle, a brown Chevy Suburban, may have cut off the suspect’s vehicle, a black BMW 5-series sedan.

The two vehicles continued driving until they pulled off onto the shoulder where interstates 395, 495 and Route 644 intersect, according to VSP.

Once the vehicles were on the shoulder, there was a confrontation, and the victim was shot once.

After the shooting, the suspect drove eastbound and exited Interstate 495 at Van Dorn Street.
