Vector Industries celebrates workers, family

Employees at Vector Industries had lunch with some special people in their lives on Thursday: their families.

“We’re here today at Vector Industries celebrating our employees,” said CEO Chrissy Johnston at the end of the Employee Forum, one in a series of events that the Waynesboro-based nonprofit business is holding to mark its 45th year in business.

Staff at Vector Industries, which employs and trains persons with diverse disabilities to enable them to reach their potential as productive community members, recognized employees for their years of service, attendance and announced performance bonuses based on increased worker productivity in 2014.

The first in the series of anniversary events, on Oct. 2, had local leaders from the City of Waynesboro and state and federal government on site at Vector to learn firsthand how the unique operation works on a daily basis.

The schedule continues on Oct. 23 with a Customer Celebration Day recognizing business and industry partners.
