The following is a list of highway work that might affect traffic in the Staunton VDOT transportation district during the coming weeks.
The Staunton district is comprised of 11 counties, Alleghany, Bath, Rockbridge, Augusta, Highland, Rockingham, Shenandoah, Frederick, Page, Warren and Clarke. Work scheduled is subject to change due to inclement weather and material supplies. Motorists are advised to watch for slow-moving tractors during mowing operations. Also, when traveling through a work zone, be alert to periodic changes in traffic patterns and lane closures.

ALLEGHANY COUNTY
INTERSTATE 64
Mile marker 1.5 to West Virginia state line, westbound – Shoulder and lane closures, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. for slope repairs. Estimated completion mid-January.
Mile marker 9.6, eastbound and westbound – Lane closures and right shoulder closures as needed for bridge repair over Route 600 and Johnsons Creek. Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Estimated completion Jan. 10, 2014.
Mile marker 41 to 0, eastbound and westbound – Be alert for crews cleaning paved ditches, bridge slopes, under guardrails, removing debris, and shoulder repairs. Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Mile marker 173 to 205, northbound and southbound – Be alert for crews cleaning bridge slopes and paved ditches, repairing mile marker signs and removing debris. Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
