Top-seeded Virginia rolled to a 5-0 win over High Point in a first-round NCAA Tournament game on Friday night at Klöckner Stadium.

The win sends the ‘Hoos (13-3-4) to a second-round matchup next week against either No. 8 seed Penn State or Army.

The Penn State-Army game is today at 5 p.m.

Virginia led 2-0 at the half on goals from Ella Carter and Allie Ross, and got a pair of goals in a six-minute stretch of the second half from Addison Halpern and Maggie Cagle to make it 4-0.

A Sophia Bradley goal in the 87th minute put the finishing touches on the win.

High Point (5-10-5) was the automatic qualifier from the Big South.
