UVA men’s soccer to host Virginia Tech Wednesday in ACC Tournament

uva-vt1The No. 21 UVA men’s soccer team will play host to Virginia Tech at 7 p.m. Wednesday (Nov. 5) at Klöckner Stadium in a first-round match in the 2014 ACC Championship. UVa (9-5-2, 3-3-1 ACC) earned the No. 8 seed in the tournament, while Virginia Tech (7-7-2, 2-5-1) claimed the No. 9 seed.
It marks the first-ever matchup between the programs in postseason play.
The winner of the match will travel to top-seeded Notre Dame for a quarterfinal match at 1 p.m. Sunday.
Tickets for the first-round match go on sale at 9 a.m. Monday through the Virginia Athletics Ticket Office. Reserved tickets are $10, while general admission tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for youth/seniors (seniors over 60). Virginia students (with UVa ID) are admitted free of charge.
Free parking will be available in the University Hall and John Paul Jones Arena lots. Gates open at 6 p.m.
Virginia and Virginia Tech played on Sept. 13 at Klöckner Stadium, with the Cavaliers scoring a 1-0 victory.
