First-time parents Greysi and Franklin Cucul of Orange welcomed the first baby of the new year at UVA Health Culpeper Medical Center on Thursday morning.

Baby Lilieth was born at 2:37 a.m. weighing eight pounds, one ounce and measuring 19-1/2 inches long.

“Welcoming our first baby of the year is always a meaningful milestone,” said Molly Stolar, nurse manager. “It’s an honor for our physicians, nurses and care teams to share such an important moment with families and to begin the new year caring for our community in such a special way.”

The baby girl was delivered by Costanza Rutland with care provided by Melody Avery and a dedicated labor and delivery team.

“I felt very well taken care of by everyone, and we are so happy and so surprised at the beautiful gift basket they gave our family,” said Greysi Cucul.

UVA Health Culpeper welcomed nearly 600 babies in 2025.
