UVA basketball signs Marco Anthony to letter of intent

uva basketballThe UVA men’s basketball program signed guard Marco Anthony (San Antonio, Texas) to a National Letter of Intent, head coach Tony Bennett announced Wednesday (Nov. 9). Anthony will join the Cavaliers for the 2017-18 season.

“Marco is a strong, physical and versatile guard who looks forward to attending the University of Virginia and competing in the ACC,” Bennett said. “Marco and his family value education and the degree he will earn from UVA.”

Anthony, a 6-6, 222-pound guard, averaged 20 points, 7.4 rebounds and 2.9 assists en route to unanimous first-team all-conference honors during his junior season at Holmes High School under head coach Jarvin Hall.

Anthony earned unanimous first-team all-conference honors during his sophomore season in 2014-15 after averaging 19.3 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.4 assists for Holmes High School. Anthony averaged 10.2 points during his freshman season in 2013-14. He garnered second-team all-academic accolades in 2014 and 2015.
