UVa. athletics debuts new TV show this weekend

uva-football-tvThis weekend will mark the debut of a new television show produced by the Virginia athletics department titled Chasing Uncompromised Excellence. It replaces the Cavalier Sports Weekly television show that aired from August to April each year.

Each 30-minute segment of Chasing Uncompromised Excellence will feature behind-the-scenes access, interviews, and footage from practices, meetings, and games. The show will profile each of UVa’s 25 sports programs as they work to meet the athletics department’s goals.

Episode 1, airing this weekend, will include segments on the UVa football, men’s soccer and women’s soccer teams. Episode 2 will focus on Virginia field hockey, volleyball andfootball.

Chasing Uncompromised Excellence will air on regional sports network Comcast SportsNet and be carried by network affiliates in Charlottesville and Virginia Beach.

The programming schedule for Chasing Uncompromised Excellence is as follows:

  • Friday, 3:30 p.m. Comcast SportsNet – Mid-Atlantic
  • Saturday, 9:30 a.m. WAHU-TV (FOX 27) – Charlottesville
  • Saturday, 10:00 a.m. Comcast SportsNet – Mid-Atlantic
  • Saturday, 11:00 a.m. WVAW-TV (ABC 16) – Charlottesville
  • Saturday, Noon WCAV-TV (CBS 19) – Charlottesville
  • Saturday, Noon WVEC-TV (ABC 13) – Hampton Roads/Virginia Beach

Episodes of Chasing Uncompromised Excellence will also be available online at VirginiaSportsTV.com.
